for anybody that actually reads my blogs, ignore this. we have to do a blogging assingment via blogspot.. soooo since i already have an account, im just doing it on here.
edu230 was.. interesting. i liked learning about smartboard and how to do digital storybooks, but everything else kind of felt a bit... repetitive.
also.. the powerpoints.. for anyone taking edu230 and edu415.. watch out for the totally conflicting views on powerpoints. one class is all about blinkers and sounds, the other.. not so much. its not like it was confusing.. i just thought it was funny that the two classes had such different views.
using a smartboard in an art classroom would be AWESOME.. but the rest of the tools, not really. i can see using the smartboard to introduce lessons... i can also see it if your students are drawing something, but i would rather use the actual materials (to avoid confusing students).
powerpoint.. maybe in a highschool setting if they are doing a report on an artist/painting.. but outside of that, im really hands-on. id rather spend my time teaching the kids about new techniques and leave the technology part to the rest of the classes.
one thing im super pumped about learning was windows moviemaker. im sure i could have done it on my own (its not that complicated), but it was nice to actually utilize it in a classroom.
so.. all in all.. the class was kind of 'eh' for me. the only thing i really felt like i learned (without being able to teach it to myself eventually) was smartboard.
the end.
